GRAMMY Awards 2011 Restructuring

When the GRAMMY's first started in 1959, they honored 28 categories in music. By 2011, the total number of awards handed out every year had grown to 109.
The GRAMMY Awards' 2011 restructuring will mean 31 fewer categories in 2012. While all of the main fields will remain the same, the categories themselves are changing.
For Christian and Gospel music fans, the restructuring will mean two less awards in 2012.
Rather than expand the field to truly represent the vast expanse of Christian music styles, they have further boxed the genre in by failing to acknowledge that Christian music offersBluegrass, Country,Metal, Inspirational, Pop, Praise and Worship, Rap, Rock, Southern Gospel andUrban/R&B Gospel.
